Benefits of Outbound Training?
Dewasa ini, dunia tengah memasuki suatu era yang disebut sebagai era digital. Dengan meningkatnya pembahasan dan diskusi mengenai Industri 4.0 yang mengedepankan unsur Artificial Intelligence dan Internet of Things, peran manusia sebagai aplikator dan operator dari sistim terdigitalisasi ini menjadi sangatlah penting. Berdasarkan artikel-artikel yang saya baca di LinkedIn dan Brigdr Insights, era digitalisasi ini dapat menyebabkan kecenderungan bagi manusia untuk merasa terancam dengan kehadiran teknologi, sehingga manusia menjadi lebih pesimis dalam dunia pekerjaan. Pesimisme ini kemudian dapat mempengaruhi atmosfir tempat kerja dan pada akhirnya, kerjasama antar manusia sendiri. Oleh karena itu, saya beranggapan menjadi penting untuk meningkatkan solidaritas antar manusia untuk menghadapi transformasi yang dibawa dengan wacana Industri 4.0.
Outbound Trainingis an interesting form of educational learning to increase solidarity between people that I planned previously.According to Ancok (2002: 41), Outbound Training is a training program in the open air which is based on the principle of learning through direct experience presented through physical activity and packaged in the form of games, simulations, discussions and adventures.So, what is the correlation between outbound programs and solidarity between people?
Afiatin (2003) in his dissertation quoted Johnson and Johnson that activities in outbound training can improve social life (sense of community) among the training participants, so that this outbound program can be an effective solution in this situation.
There has been several research conducted, both in Indonesia and on the global stage, regarding the influence of outbound training on participants.In Indonesia, I quote research results from Totong Umar (2011) that outbound training has an influence on four points, namely:
1. There is an influence of the results of outbound training on character self-confidence
2. There is an influence of the results of outbound training on improving leadership character
3. There is an influence of the results of outbound training on increasing team collaboration
4. Outbound training tidak memberikan sumbangan yang merata antara rasa percaya diri, kepemimpinan, dan kerjasama tim.
The biggest contribution (is) self-confidence, which is 7.25%.Meanwhile on the global stage, there is research from Karunawardhana (2016) which identifies the effectiveness of outbound training in changing employee behavior in the Sri Lankan Parliament.In this study, it was found that the outbound method was positively correlated with employee behavior, specifically in two behavioral dimensions, namely skills and attitude.
Dalam bagian selanjutnya, saya akan menjelaskan benang merah antara temuan-temuan dalam penelitian terhadap outbound training yang telah disebutkan dan kemampuan berkomunikasi para peserta yang secara tidak langsung turut dipengaruhi oleh outbound training itu sendiri.
