Favorite material in Public Speaking class batch 18 TALKINC
The aim of continuing the Public Speaking class after the Elementary class is to be able to train and practice more effective public speaking, which hits the target.Apart from that, my hope is to be able to get to know the right type that suits my character and speaking style, which tends to like adding "spice" when speaking. At the end of the 7th session, I was able to see my tendencies and became more aware of these tendencies and tried to be more introspective.
My favorite material is Practice Makes Perfect presented by Lala Tangkudung. This material is interesting for me because apart from training ourselves, during the session we can also observe the creativity of our friends when practicing. When observing, we are also motivated to be creative and also adjust several points that we wanted to convey or that we did not want to convey.I am also more aware of several points that I need to improve, such as verbal filler, bridging and also the tone of my voice, especially when blank.
During class, Mba Lala also really pays attention to each participant's practice and provides tips to make things easier or provides input on how best to present and practice more appropriately for each participant. The tone and pace of the voice are also considered apart from the position towards the camera and interaction with the audience.Even though during class on this topic there is not much theoretical discussion and is a summary of the previous class, it is very useful for refreshing memories regarding previous topics.

The thing that really hit home was the importance of the punch line in the closing section, because so far in every closing section I have only been used to using summaries and recaps.A punch line that hits will leave an impression that the participants will always remember. The material in this class is also very useful to use in each practice session because it is a combination of previous class material and appropriate reminder sessions.
