Sharpen your weapons to increase your communication capacity
It sounded "terrifying" like wanting war.Maybe this analogy is also appropriate as a title because it gives the impression of a battle situation, yes indeed we are currently fighting against ourselves and the circumstances that occur and continue to occur in our lives.Another term, namely: "Everyone has their own battles" very accurately describes our condition in life in a world that is fast-paced and full of challenges.A new world or what is called The New Norms which creates a massive flow of change makes us/other people increasingly impatient, self-centered, prejudiced and individualistic.
So what we are facing now, if it is related to communication skills, cannot be separated from a person's ability to know themselves, control them, be able to read the mood and personality of the person they are talking to, not to mention the increasingly raging internal challenges, the pressure of social media, making the ability to build relationships today (from what I observe when teaching or meeting many people) increasingly worse.
There are two words that need to be considered in dealing with this situation, namely: Self Accaptance. Now, when we are aware of the internal and external influences that influence a person's communication, of course we can create many strategies to anticipate them.So that if we or the person we are talking to are not in a good situation, we can find out.
Hone your knowledge, hone your attitude, hone your skills in reading situations and the person you are talking to.The 3 things above are our reference for success in this career and life.Being an open person, always being a "student" at every opportunity will give us abundant positive benefits. In class I like to convey the terms village knives vs Swiss-made knives.A knife with the best quality made in Switzerland will feel that there is no need to sharpen it every day because it is made from the best quality materials, whereas a village knife bought for under IDR 10,000 will think that if it is not sharpened every day it will rust and cannot be used.
