Professional Development Skills

By Erwin Parengkuan

It feels difficult when someone feels powerless to make changes to become better, more courageous to speak, more confident, more structured, more flexible, and even more. Some of their comments about self-change were: "it's difficult," "I find it difficult to start conversations with new people," "I'll try, bro."

Do we realize that everything we say about exploring one's potential is born from words that will become the capital of a stigma within a person. When the narrative we mention are the words: Difficult, Not Sure, I'll Try, these words are our mantra that will determine our next steps. If it is difficult to choose the words, of course until the end of the world there will never be a change in a person for the better. As with the word Try, of course the results will not be optimal.

The material about Professional Development Skills in the regular program that we provide will force everyone out of their comfort zone.Participants are required to dare to speak and dare to explore themselves. The meetings we provide will make them disciplined about the changes they want to achieve, especially since they themselves want to change. As is the case with every training we conduct for professionals in all different industries.Unfortunately, when someone is asked to change by the company where they work, and this in-house training is held, awareness does not arise from each participant. Moreover, seeing that their superiors have not changed, and can only tell them, the conditions for change to occur will become increasingly difficult. In essence, someone who wants to change must be based on a full awareness that comes from within themselves.

From our experience in each class, the key to someone's success in personal development is having the 3 C's:

Courage

A courage to start, try, fail, try again and finally find a new way that you want to master

Curious

Someone has the curiosity to increase their own capacity. And challenge themselves to find out what things are important to do, and find out what kind of methods will shape them into superior individuals

Consistence

This part is the determinant, whether we have the courage to try, are curious about the process of finding the best way, whether we are always consistent in carrying out changes which will start by creating a new habit.

Of course, not everyone is consistent in carrying it out, so we see that more people stop halfway because they give up easily and are certainly not consistent.

Do you dare to challenge yourself to change yourself for the better? To be more PD, dare to explore your own potential? Is it time to change? If not, how long will you wait?
