Write The Way You Talk As MC TV Presenter
Writing.
Hmm…For some people, this is a hard 'work'.Likewise for many regular students of the PROFESSIONAL MC TV PRESENTER TALKINC class.
Want to be an MC, why are you asked to write?”
“Look at the rundown, you can just say it straight away, how come #8230;”
"I'd rather be told to talk for hours, rather than being told to write a paragraph."
"Hellooww… it's twice the work, if you want to get something, you have to make a script first…"
"Write a script? Uh lalaaa… gubraxxx!!!"
Kalemmm Mas Brooo, Mbak Sis….Inhale, exhale….Have you calmed down?
Ok…So this…
God has given us the ability to speak since we were still monthly;Meanwhile, we can only have the ability to write after school. It's natural that we are better at speaking than writing. But…Speaking of public speaking, it's not easy either. That is why Talkinc also holds Public Speaking classes. So in essence, to be an MC or host or presenter, or speaker, you must have speaking skills that don't just rely on talent.Because the "talking" of a presenter is not just talking like chatting with friends.
The MC's "speaking" is "speaking" with rules, which must pay attention to various aspects: The material of the message to be conveyed, the intended audience, the language style of delivery, word choice, intonation, duration, speed, and appearance.
So, with the limitations of so many rules, can we talk without a script?
The answer is, yes.But... it feels like only selected people who are blessed with a 'gift' from God will be able to, or...those who have been around for a long time (have a lot of flying hours) in the MC field. If we are not from the two groups above and still want to eat without a script, then please…Please compare the results with those who prepared their MC work by making a script first.
The next question is: Is it true that the television station or event organizer does not provide a script for the MC?The answer: Not all.
OK, so, you have to learn how to write a script, huh?YesAgain, yes.Believe me, learning to create a script in the HOW TO CREATE YOUR SCRIPT class is not as scary as you imagine (if you don't believe it, you can ask your next door neighbor, hahaa….).The main material is to open Pandora's box where ideas roam;untangles tangles when starting the first word;and the next step is to arrange the spoken sentences according to the principle of "Write The Way You Talk".
God willing, even though it is a bit of a brain exercise, at the end of the lesson, students will definitely be able to create a script word for word.Huh???The script must be word for word?YesHowever, even though it was written word for word, when on duty later, the script on the cue card was not read word by word. The function of the manuscript is only as a primary supporting tool, namely as the main supporting tool, helping us when there are parts that we forget. So, if you don't read it, do you have to memorize it?Not really, because when we compose our own words in a manuscript, then read it, revise it, read it again, revise it again, by accident, we have 'planted seeds' in memory.Remember, writing is strengthening memory.
By preparing the script first, we can map out which parts (which segments, how many slots) the main message should be emphasized, jokes should be told, a solemn atmosphere should be built, a cheerful atmosphere should be generated.By making a script first, we can look for more appropriate word choices, more connected bridging sentences, and the most important thing of all is that we can make the event we present have soul and full of value.
Be an MC who is able to provide "content" to the event, not just an MC who can only say: "That was it…. Next is….".
